[gentle admonishment. sudoh's hands are steady, and he's stripping Aymeric of bloody layer after bloody layer.]

[aymeric relents, letting sudoh strip him. underneath the layers lies torn and bloodied garments, and when he's finally bare from the waist up the extent of the damage can be seen. there's a large gash covering most of his side, from hip to armpit. the cuts are deep and uneven, leaving an exposed wound ripe for infection. his arm on the same side bears a similar gash as well as nasty bruising to indicate a broken or sprained bone, and when he tries to bend it at the elbow he lets out a hiss of pain]

... how bad is it?

[sudoh is scurrying to an opposite corner for a needle, a metal pan, and a bit of cleanish cloth to unravel thread from.]

There should be some clean water in a flask... with my pack. Some supplies on Valerie's... side saddle...

[he trails off, sounding a tad breathless]

[still dumps his pan of janky medical supplies next to aymeric and heads to Valerie's side. good to take off her tack and all, too.

[valerie doesn't mind. she shuffles closer to plop down next to aymeric, letting out a soft "kweh".

in the side saddle are some basic supplies, including medical supplies, though it's not an exhaustive supply. an alchemical potion, a poultice, some herbs, some clean cloth and bandages. the flask of drinking water is on aymeric's hip.

he goes quiet, exhaustion and pain rendering him silent]

[his voice sounds soft and vulnerable, followed by a hard swallow]

[cupping his cheek.]

Once you're stable, I'll bring a healer to see you. We've just gotta get you that far, okay?

[he leans into it, looking conflicted but soothed, too. he swallows hard]

... aye. Pray forgive me.

[get it together, aymeric. focus.]

[huffs gently]

You don't need to be sorry. Grit your teeth, I need to wash these out.

[he nods, and it does indeed suck. aymeric does his best to stay still, only letting out the occasional hiss of discomfort]

If I recall the chirugeon's training... after cleaning the wound, one applies the poultice... and it's meant to set for--Fury, I don't recall how long.

[aymeric's response is instantaneous--that stings, and his whole body goes rigid as he lets out a yell, half out of surprise than anything]

Fury have mercy...!

Hang on tight, buddy.

[free hand pressing down on aymeric's chest, no moving as he smears the rest of it.]

[his free hand grasps sudoh's wrist pinning him down, though he doesn't try to fight him--just holding on for stability and comfort. he grits his teeth as he tries to muffle his cry of pain, ending on a whimper.

(and though he won't realize it until later, his heart is certainly fluttering at the feeling of sudoh holding him down with that kind of strength)

after the salve is applied, aymeric takes slow, shaky breaths to try and recover]

[once it's applied, sudoh maneuvers the hand that's pinning Aymeric to hold his hand instead, aiming for comforting.]

Just a little time for it to work...

[aymeric grips it tightly as he focuses on breathing and not on the pain. he says nothing, just swallows and nods in acknowledgment, though his hold on sudoh's hand is like iron]

[waits patiently ("patiently" vibrating), but eventually frees his hand.]

[geeeently tapping at a particularly thick bit of poultice, checking if it's set appropriately.]

[aymeric twitches a little, but it seems like the poultice has set]

[he's still bleeding but not nearly as profusely, and pressure on wounds like this is good, ostensibly]
