[sudoh doesn't request anything intense, either. he seems fully grateful for what aymeric is able to provide, and the raids stop entirely.

moving into the cabin clearly happens as well, as the cave clearly sees less and less use, and the rumors of heretics out by the cabin die down as well as the ones about the wolf woman.

sudoh comes to the drop off point alone, always. no use risking discovery or the wolves in an otherwise negotiable situation. but that means he has a little more patience than he would, out in the open with the wolves... and little less skill in tracking, when he decides he's done waiting.]

[a yellow shape can soon be seen in the distance--it's valerie, aymeric's chocobo, with her saddle hanging half-off her flank, the supply pouch dangling precariously... and a trail of bright red blood on the snow behind her.

"kweh! kweh!" she flutters her wings, looking upset.]

[he rushes to her, looking for injury]

[she doesn't look injured, despite the blood--it looks like it's been splashed onto her, rather. she nips at sudoh's pelt, urgently, and turns back towards the way she came.

"kweh!"

which is chocobo-ese for "hop on", one assumes.]

[yeah that's easy to follow

he swings onto her back easily, kicking the saddle off entirely. easier that way.]

C'mon, girl, show me.

[valerie takes off, galloping eastward, stopping at a large bridge that overlooks a gorge and a frozen river. below them sudoh can see a view of a pair of drakes hovering over a human-shaped figure with short curly black hair, lying prone in the snow, blood smeared along the ground.]

[sudoh launches himself off of her, dropping off the bridge like a rock with the full intent of landing on a drake's head and smashing it right into the ground with his weight.]

[peacetalks]

[sudoh is successful, as neither the drakes nor aymeric were expecting that. the other drake shrieks in alarm, and aymeric takes the opportunity to grab his discarded sword with his non-injured arm and throw it at the other one--spearing it clean through the neck.

the effort makes him yelp in pain, however, curling in on himself with a hiss]

sudoh shakes off the impact admirably and leaps to his side, hoverhandsing]

Where are you hurt?!

[aymeric lifts his head and blinks up at sudoh, shocked]

Shut Hell? When did you--

[he cuts himself off with another hiss of pain, his wounds having reopened from the effort of throwing his sword]

Valerie found me.

[tugging at his armor, though, he needs to see the damage.]

Thank the Fury...

[his chainmail tunic is heavily damaged and he's bleeding through it, his arm and side having bore the brunt of the attack]

She is unharmed?

Looks like all the blood is yours.

[hhhhhgh okay, ripping cloth from his pants to make pads and strap it to the injury in his side. get pressure on it for wrapping him up in the pelt and bodily picking him up in piggyback.]

[aymeric grits his teeth against the pain, and gratefully leans on sudoh's back, sweat beading on his brow despite the cold]

I fear the... supplies have been lost... pray forgive me.

We can manage. You focus on not dying.

[hoisting him a little better, and starting the long trek back up to the bridge where Valerie waits nervously.]

[aymeric groans a little from the movement, taking shallow breaths as his forehead presses against the back of sudoh's neck]

You saved my life... I do not know where to begin thanking you. Had you not come along, they--

[hisses again]

--were planning to kill me. Heretics, not true dragons. They were discussing some sort of plan of ransom at first, but then decided against it. I'd most certainly... be dead had you not intervened when you did.

But keep talking. Passing out here would be a death sentence. Ransom, huh?

Aye... for the release of their imprisoned comrades... in the Holy See. Upon finding me no more than... a mere knight... they began to rethink their strategy.

[by the time they reach the top, valerie is fluttering anxiously about]

[valerie lowers herself to the ground so that it's easier for them to climb up onto her. "kweh", she says.

at the same time, the foreboding shadow of a dragon in the sky covers them]

Seven hells, I think there's more of them.

[helping aymeric onto her back and grabbing aymeric's sword. which is. fucking gigantic in his hands but look, you make do.]

[aymeric grimaces but shifts himself into a position where he can hold onto valerie securely]

We'll need to find shelter quickly. If we head back to Ishgard like this, we're bound to be spotted.
