[ oh, no. whatever will he do. ... okay, even if this isn't unlife-threatening, it is enough of a pain to warrant some concern.

currently human-shaped—mostly because he doesn't want to borrow trouble by bothering that wolf pack—but he's rapidly starting to rethink that decision, even as he starts working on digging out a hollow in the snow with his hands. he doesn't really have any body heat left to try to conserve, but at least if he gets deep enough he'll stop getting snowflakes in his eyes. ]

[the howls are getting closer, then silencing. soon there's the faint sound of paws on new snow, so so very soft, as the pack draws near. They're... curious, maybe? Chris definitely can only feel the presence of wolves, but there's a flash of red in the flurrying snow, a dark shape topped with that vivid color, taller than the wolves that come in and out of view through the gusts of snow, and it disappears almost long enough for Chris to think he hadn't seen anything of the sort. Then a person bounds up, wearing a TRULY MASSIVE wolf pelt and otherwise kind of underdressed for the weather. At least they'd deigned to actually wear their top properly given the snow, so it's not just bundled around their waist with their arms and shoulders exposed.] You're not from around here! Need shelter? [the wolves are creeping closer, shapes becoming clearer as they near, though there's no sense of hostility. ...Actually, there's still no sense of there being a person here at all. Even the redhead feels like a beast.]

[ hhhuh. sniffs a bit, masking it as a sniffle ] If your friends wouldn't mind the intrusion, sure. Digging a hole for yourself is more fun when the snow's already settled.

[SURE SMELLS LIKE WOLF!! Even though he doesn't look anything but human, if a scruffy one, dressed in seriously old-fashioned clothes.] I wouldn't have offered if I thought they would. Or, I wouldn't have offered you shelter with us. [offers him a hand up.]

[Sudoh's hands are warm and rough, calloused. ALARMED, registering his temperature, cupping his hand close to his face and blowing warm air onto it.] Oh hell, you're freezing. Let's hurry! [...is pausing to sniff his hand too, though. another pack?]

[ another wolf pack! which he does have fading traces of on him, mostly washed away by the snow— just enough to get the sense it's large, and well-fed without making out too many individuals. underneath that, though, is a spicy artificial sort of cologne smell, and the chemical tang of sunblock. and underneath that— well, it's fairly covered up by the rest, even with so much washed off, but there's a chilly, metallic undertone there— cold blood and death. somehow, it isn't alarming except in how out of place it is. ] Ah— it's fine, that's mostly from the digging—

[somehow, it's been so long since he smelled sunblock that he almost doesn't recognize the scent, huffs Chris's hand for a few moments longer than he intended... then blushes and drops his hand.

How long has he been out here, with only the company of Shut Hell and the wilds? Surely it hasn't been that long...]

Maybe, but if you stay that cold it's bad news!

[ doesn't comment, but does take his hand back with some relief— not that'd it'd necessarily be bad if he got outed, but sometimes he just didn't want to deal with the potential hassle. being in the middle of the blizzard was enough of a pain. ] Good thing you've already offered to take care of that part!

Very true. Shelter's this way. Y'might wanna step in my footprints, the snow can be surprisingly deep in places. [turns his back to Chris without fear, beckoning over his shoulder.]

I've weathered a snowstorm or two before, but thanks for the warning. [ following afterward, lightfooted. it's a little more difficult on two feet rather than four, but nothing he can't handle. ]

[Sudoh clearly knows the terrain quite well, forging sure-footed through the snow, the wolves running on ahead.]

[ ...after a couple more moments it becomes quickly apparent that his follower is eerily quiet; if he's not looking, Sudoh might as well be alone. ]

[They find the cave quickly, and it's gloomy and already somewhat warmed with the wolves' bodies. Sudoh wastes no time taking Chris's hands and tugging him into the pile of wolves.]

[ sputters and topples in, at which point it becomes pretty apparent he was totally bullshitting about how cold he was. his core is sort of ok and rapidly warming, but all his extremities are icy. ] Hey— [ not seriously protesting, though ]
